Kook-a-Mango Love.....

I had a $2.00 off coupon for Sally Hansen Professional Manicure Polish and I choose the bright color of Kook-a-Mango. While the color seems very vibrant and goes on in two coats, It seemed like it would never dry. I let it dry forever in between the two coats and didn't attempt to try a design on it till the following evening. I don't think I'll be buying anymore of these for a while. The white love design is drawn on by a white Kiss Brand Nail Art Pen.

Please.....Don't Make a Scene!

Too late..... I already made one - with this boldly subtle (if that is possible) color from Finger Paints called Don't Make a Scene. I'm usually not one for colors that are low key, but this one just screams "Hey! Look at me!!" I guess that's why they named it Don't Make a Scene, because it sure looks great on and is a real eye catcher. It went on great in two coats and dried rather quickly. I didn't even bother to stamp it and that is really saying something because I don't usually wear any kind of color without design. Well enough blabbing......here it is in all it's glory.

Ooohhhh!! What a Sexy Sundress...

I tried out my Finger Paints color Sexy Sundress this weekend. I must say it does look pretty sexy. And when I stamped it with Konad special black polish using BM322, it was retro sexy!! I also made a Light Box for taking pictures and the following pictures were taken within the Light Box.

I do like the Light Box, but I am now realizing my camera is crap for taking close ups, even using my Macro feature it will not clear up.... GRRRR. I tried to save some money making my own Light Box and now I have to spend more money getting a better camera*** sigh ***.

Bad, Bad Blogger ...Long Time ... No Post ...

Sorry for the absence. Between re-planning and re-locating a vacation (the day before we left) that had been planned since February and my son starting 1st grade, I'm lucky to remember my own name. The only mani's I managed to do was a Classic French Mani (while riding in the car to Memphis- Not Chicago as originally planned) and what I named my Carbon Fiber French Mani.

This is Classic French. I used my Savvy Brand polish called Champagne and Sally Hansen White French Mani Pen and top coated it with Seche Vite.
Like I said before. I did this while riding in a moving car, so not the best I've ever done. Plus the only camera I had available was my iPhone.

This next one is what I have named my Carbon Fiber French Mani. For this one I used my trusty Savvy Brand polish named Champagne (which is the best base coat for french mani's EVER!) It has a beautiful subtle rainbow sheen to it. I tipped it with Sally Hansen's Black Diamond and used a Konad stamp with Konad Special Silver polish. Top Coated with China Glaze Fast Forward Clear Coat. I love the way this has turned out. For some reason it reminds me of a sports car with Carbon Fiber effects on it.

Enjoy!

I'm a Busy Busy Slacker....

I'm so sorry for not posting since Friday. It has been extremely busy around here getting ready for our Mini Vacation to Chicago and our sons first day of 1st grade. These last two weeks are coming at warp speed! I hope you don't mind, but I'm going to post pics of some of my first Funky French Mani's. I promise to post some pics of my now organized stash (thanks to 1 1/2 hours of sorting) and will be doing an excel spreadsheet of Brands and Colors also (baby steps.....).

Thanks for looking and have a wonderful day!

Fun Friday Neon and Bling!

Yay! It's Friday again!!!!! Time for a super fun, bling filled neon mani. You could actually do it with or without the bling and it would still look amazing, but I'm in a bling kind of mood today (go figure-haha). I used the following on this mani:

SINFUL COLORS - Snow Me White (Base Color)
NINA ULTRA PRO - Blu Blaze
SINFUL COLORS - Irish Green
SINFUL COLORS - Pink
KLEANCOLOR - Funky Yellow
SINFUL COLORS - Summer Peach

This is before the bling. I still really like the simple effect this gives. Not quite a French Mani, but not quite anything else either (HA!)

I used a clear coat after the initial two coats of the white base (SINFUL COLORS - Snow Me White), but didn't use any after taping off the stripes. I was going to put a clear coat on after I glued on the bling, but was worried it would make the rhinestones look clumpy and goopy, so I decided against it altogether. All of the neons (except for the green) were more of a matte finish and they were all super quick to dry (as most neons seem to be).

Wait for it.......wait for it..........BLING!!!!!!!!

(with a flash)

I love this sooooooo much! Well worth the tediousness of the rhinestones. I used a dab of nail glue and tweezers to put them on.

Hope everyone has an awesome weekend.

I'm a Copy Cat !!

I borrowed an idea from a recent post on Mad Manis madmanis.blogspot.com/2012/07/golden-hearts.html. I love how rich the red and gold look together. These are two colors I wouldn't normally wear, but I couldn't resist! I used:

SINFUL COLORS - GoGo Girl
REVLON - Gold Coin (for stamping & tips)
CHINA GLAZE - Fast Forward Clear Coat
Bundle Monster Plate BM317

Here is GoGo Girl by itself. Please excuse the weird speck of black on my middle finger! I couldn't get rid of it without messing up my mani. This is a very "red" red. An extremely bright, no frills red without any shimmer or glitters. By the way, this stains your skin something fierce!

(With Flash)

I never realized how wrinkly my hand was till I looked at these - ha!

Darn black speck!!

The REVLON Gold Coin is a Metallic and it stamped really well. I am finding that the Revlon brand polish goes on very nice in as little as one coat. Thanks for stopping by. Have a great day! OH! and don't forget to check out the Mad Manis link above. Amanda and Melissa always have cool manis to check out.
