Lovely Monday *ugh*

After such a beautiful weekend, Monday came way too fast! But isn't that always the story ;) This weekend I found a mani on apolishedtouch.blogspot.com and fell in love with the simplicity of it. I loved the colors and tried to match them since I didn't have the exact colors that she had. I used...

REVLON - Pink Freeze
NICOLE BY OPI - Follow Me on Glitter
CHINE GLAZE - Fast Forward Clear Coat
Dotting tools (From Large to Small Sizes)

Both of these polishes were a dream! I only used one coat and they dried super fast. Here is a close up of the beautiful colors that are in this glitter.

On a side note I have been lucky enough to get some "new blogger" suggestions from some very lovely ladies and I hope in the next few weeks I can implement them on Polished Potential. If you would like to check out their blogs here they are:

Happy Friday!

Oh happy happy Friday!

I did this happy mani using Sinful Colors Summer Peach and Kleancolor Funky Yellow. It was stamped with Konad Special Black. I really loved how much this stood out. It was very bright, unique and truly quick and easy. Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Nail Stamping...

I have started to use nail stamps from Konad, Bundle Monster and some Generic Brands. At first I was AWFUL at it and put them away for a few months thinking I would never get the hang of it, but got them back out over the past 2 months and they just started to miraculously work (or I finally got the hang of it -haha). Here are some pics.

These first three pics are some of my first decent stamping attempts.

As you can see, I had a nail fiasco and had to trim all my nails. Very dark time in my life *rolling eyes*. But seriously, it did suck! I had tried so many remedies for my thin brittle nails and have just recently found Haken Nail Magic. This has saved my nails lives! I highly recommend it. It can be found on Amazon, Ebay or at Sally Beauty (that I know of).

Then (after my dark time-haha)......I purchased my first BRAND NEW vehicle! I LOVE IT! So, of course, I had to do a mani for it.

My first themed mani for the Fourth of July!

Fresh summer mani. If only it smelled like oranges instead of toxic polish fumes....

Another fun summer mani...

This was something that I never thought I would wear......owls.......but it turned out really cute!

Most of these ideas come from "monkey see, monkey do" kind of stuff. I see them on Pinterest or one of the many blogs that I love and copy the technique, colors or stamp style. I hope the other bloggers that originated these ideas don't mind. These are mostly older pictures that I have accumulated and I cannot remember which blogs I had originally seen them on. They are probably one of the many blogs that I have posted on the right hand side of my blog (Favorite Blogs). As I start using more up-to-date pictures, I will be sure to notate which blog it originated from to give them their due credit!

More Oldies But Goodies...

Here are a few more pics of my earlier nails. I mainly use scotch tape to make the designs.

I was experimenting with Matte Clear Coat and this is the outcome. Obviously I hadn't learned to clean up around my cuticles yet, but in my defense dark colors (especially black) are a real butt to clean up.
This was a fun one. I wanted to use the silver stud embellishments .

My first (and only) have moon mani. I used those paper hole re-enforcements. I just haven't really been drawn to these for some reason.

This was a mani that I did not like. I don't know if it was the colors together or if I'm just not used to doing one accent finger of a different color/design??

One of my favorites. It did take a little time, but was well worth the wait. Also this was the perfect mani to show off my new ring.

Although I thought this was very boring looking, I did get a bunch of compliments on it.
Hope you enjoyed these. I am still digging into my old nail pic stash. Hopefully in a few more posts I'll make it to my more recent pics.

What I've Been Up To...

I started doing my nails after subscribing to Pinterest and coming across a bunch of nail tutorials. I thought, "Hey, I can do that" and sure enough I could. Don't let the look of the designs you may come across on blogs overwhelm you. You would be surprised at how simple the technique may be. Sure, I've had some epic fails, but I've also surprised myself with my new found skills. Here are some of the first designs I had ever done. I started in January of this year and have come a long way, if I do say so myself :) Hope you enjoy!

My First Official Post

I am a 30 something mom of one who has recently become obsessed with my nails. I have enjoyed so many nail blogs of others that I figured I would try my hand at it (pun intended-heehee). I hope that I may be able to share my ever growing knowledge, tips and tricks regarding anything nail oriented. Please feel free to comment, ask questions and enjoy.

Thanks for checking out Polished Potential. I will start posting nail pics very soon.
